Pitney Bowes is buying Troy-based MapInfo for $408 million. MapInfo stock is up over 50% on word of the deal. Pitney Bowes is down just a few cents. It’s unclear what exactly the “mailstream” innovations company will do with MapInfo, but its mail and property tracking businesses are the most likely places for integration.
